You have to hand it to the “Liberal Democrats”.
First Tim Farron has a pop at Donald Trump's victory – nothing wrong in that – saying the Trump triumph goes against liberal values, which presumably still include democracy.
Now he pledges to push for a second EU referendum, on the final deal, despite June's democratic exercise delivering one of the biggest electoral turnouts in decades.
One of the hallmarks of being liberal and democratic is surely accepting the will of the people – even when they deliver verdicts with which you disagree.
Let us not forget that 18 months ago the people delivered their scathing judgement on the Lib Dems – and slashed their Commons representation from 56 to eight.
Yet Farron succeeds in generating headlines by vowing to get people to vote and vote again until they come up with an answer he wants.
Anyway, he can say what he likes but it won't happen.
Today sees teenagers take over Westminster, as the British Youth Parliament occupies the green benches.
This annual event began life as a John Bercow stunt.
But it has developed into a heartwarming and inspiring exercise where youngsters debate the issues they feel strongly about.
Today's themes include NHS cuts, tackling anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, and lowering the voting age.
It's a safe bet the kids will generate more sense, better ideas and do it with more respect than their elder counterparts.
And with Brexit and the White House race understandably triggering despair in recent months, it's worth remembering the future isn't all bleak.
Elsewhere, No 10 is pouring cold water on claims Nigel Farage will act as an envoy between Westminster and Donald Trump in the run-up to the President-elect's inauguration.
As the country mourns Leonard Cohen's passing, that is at least one thing for which we can all cry “Hallelujah” at the end of this tumultuous week.
